Today I found your letter again

In my old box of keepsakes

I cried reading it as I always do

It was such a long time ago

This moment that you describe

That touched you so and made you sad

Crying when you got home

I love how you write so openly

About how enchanted you were by us

Two little elves dancing spontaneously for you

In the hallway of that old house back in the old Country

I never told you this but

You were always my favorite relative

Because you were kind and sweet 

Spreading happiness whenever we saw you

You carried yourself with such style and grace

Sunbathing in the nude as you did with your oversized sunglasses

And the colorful pretty dresses you always wore

Everybody just seemed gloomy and gray in comparison

We touched you that day, but I want you to know that your

Presence in my young life and your heartfelt letter have

Touched my heart forever and I will carry you with me always
