Fortesses of Fortitude

Fortesses of Fortitude

I’ve felt doubt has bound both of my gnarled hands,
yet can’t control the very core of me.
The strongest kingdoms are not built on sands
which wash away with waves brought by the sea.

Yes, I am tired but know you’ll lift me upβ€”
the way is blocked, but we will find the key.
Then glorious, both you and I will sup
and drink the nectar, wrought by victory.

Although our adversaries are quite skilled,
we’ll persevere, as hope will see us through.
Then rise above them all while feeling thrilled
that we accomplished what we needed to.

A sworn allegiance, forged, as one like this
will crush their bones, then grind our foes to grist.

I adore yours as well, Lisa.
Thanks so much again for checking this out.
I trust that most members here at Cosmo don't care for the sonnet form?
I think it's a beautiful form of poetic expressionism.
Hugs!
