A Friend of Mine

Sing softly, never stop, just the words of love, the tender hearts that fly

A friend, a lover, inspired, surprised, the gifts of tender touch, of laughter

Every step, I take it, lightly, knowing you are watching, smiling, I can smell you

I feel you around me, though you are in the sky of heavens clouds, the angels

Are with you, as they play music to my ears, tears of joy, tears of fears, of sorrow

You left so soon in life, but you will never be erased, from the chalkboard of my mind

A companion, a true apple of my eye, I taste your sweet juices, and I write this verse

To rhyme in time, or not, it doesn't really matter, I spread my arms to hold you 

I give you this rose, with the dew of the rain, it is blessed with your name

To know you, to lust for you, in every wet dream, more than life, more than anything

Only time will find the way, I will always be here, longing, for a true friend of mine
