Gifts By a Tree

We've all been trying to be good all year long,
but it seems as Christmas has come and gone.

We wished for little but did not expect,
our chimneys so empty, and feeling neglect.

Where are you?
Where were you?
We all waited so patient.

We thought you had forgotten about us all.

I wasn't alone as I waited and waited.
We all had your cookies and candy, all set by the trees.

We thought that you thought that we did something bad,
We all lost our smiles and felt so sad.

Where are you?
Where were you?
The gifts by the tree

Oh Santa Oh Santa, you took such a fall!
