Golden Hearts
For Marion
When tears pour forth from golden hearts
And spill, as ink, across the page,
We cannot help but feel the pain,
The hurt, the anguish and the rage.
We cannot help but feel aggrieved
That god should fail a golden heart,
To choose to crush and pound at it
And then to rip it clean apart.
The soul that holds a heavy moon
And stands amidst cascading tears
Is one that knows the bitter truth
And is a soul all gods shall fear.
And we must never hide our eyes
From bleeding souls that write so brave
When tears pour forth from golden hearts
And spill, as ink, across the page.

Tina, this is simply stunning. It choked me to read and made my eyes well up. A most moving piece of poetry.

We are meant to look at the moon when in question of something weighing us down. So for me these two lines really spoke out to me. The entire poem is beautifully worded. Such splendid imagery and heart felt emotion from start to end. Penned elegantly. Your writing holds a finesse my dear poetic friend x

Ah...my beautiful friend. When I read this I cried...because your understanding, compassion and empathy are written in every beautiful word. I cannot begin to tell how how touched and moved I am ❤ This shows how you and many others on here have walked with me through my and all.of our journeys through grief ...without judgement, just completely understanding that as writers...we have to write. Not only that, it is a beautiful and fine work. I believe that connection of souls can transcend the physical and I am truly honoured...and comforted beyond words to be connected to yours Tina. Who definitely without a doubt has a heart of gold but more so a strong heart of gold. You have truly done it justice...reaching deep within to express such emotion and understanding in this piece.
