Poem -

Losing you

Losing you

I dread the word, it makes worry
I hate how times flys, like a worker in a hurry
I hate everything about it the dread, horror, despair
Something you can’t control, heart broke beyond repair
The thoughts that go with it, I couldn’t imagine life
Without the ones I love and all sadness and strife
Not being able to shout their name or listen to their voice
Not being able to hug them, knowing  it was not their choice
Trying so hard to remember their face, smell and smile
Knowing you wished you could have longer and sit a little while
The fear the word brings sends shivers through my soul
I just wish and pray we could all grow gracefully old
To sit and share memories of a life fulfilled
Captured smiles in our hearts,  a soul warm and willed
