GoodBye

GoodBye

You did not
come home
last night

You said
you were
picking up
steaks
at Walmart

I fell asleep
waiting
for you

Woke up
to hear
that a young
man
who hated
the world
unleashed
his anger
atΒ the meat section
on Aisle 3

They say
you put
yourself
Β in
the line
of fire
In order
to protect
a mother
and her
child

The Politicians
have already
been at my
door
hoping
I would
support
their
political agenda

Jesus Fucking Christ
I have not
even been to
the morgue
to identify
you
and the
sharks
are camped
out my window

Can someone
give me some
space
and
allow
me
to at
least
firstΒ
say
GoodBye?
