Tears

Tears

please

grant me tears,
tears i yearn for
more than the cause
or a forgetting,

cold crushing tears
that set my body
shaking and bring
me to my knees.

grant me tears

tears that flow as
streams to rivers,
cool and forgiving.

try, I cannot rouse
them in the dark
of night or the light
of day.

grant me tears

tears hell bent
that yield or stop
for nothing,

ones that release
a dark bound pain
as a dove upon
the breeze.

please, grant me tears

as prayers, true pure
and clear, that heal
and reveal a path
to walk, now free.

Thank you very much Neville, Being Me and Jill. Tears come generally too easy for me ( for a macho guy:) upon hearing a sad or inspiring story or watching a certain kind of movie but there has been a moment or two in real life when tears were late to come.

Mark great to see you again in full flow and exceptional words offered up here.
A wonder write and one not lost on this contented reader.
You have a unique way of expressing things and to be admired.
Wishing you well and the good things in life.
