Happy Birthday

It’s my birthday, happy birthday to me

I will spend it alone, a birthday for me

No one to call my own, on a birthday for me

Just a spouse and a child, who will spend a birthday from me

Just a mum and a dad, who will spend a birthday from me

Just a sibling or two, who will spend a birthday from me

Perhaps I will treat myself, happy birthday to me

Drive off a cliff, a birthday treat for me

Walk into traffic, or drown in the sea, slit my wrists

Well it’s my birthday you see

If I spend it alone, a birthday for me

I will decide what to do, on a birthday for me

No one will cry, happy birthday to me

So what does matter, how old I will be
