Haunting

The way you stick in my head is haunting,
                Part of me is still wrapped around you wanting.
I know that this is better,
                It’s just the heaviness of this scarlet letter.
Sometimes I just want to hear your voice,
                But I know that calling you isn’t my best choice.
I would like to think that I’d be void of our memories.
                You make my emotions my greatest enemies.
Even the thought of you ruin any progress,
                All they do in bring back that stress.
You said I’ve changed but that due to my emotions,
                Like hell is in my heart and it’s setting things in motion.
I’m proud of the not so me that I am currently,
                It shows the struggles I’ve overcome internally.
I wish you would stop me from falling,
                Because the emotions and memories of your name are haunting.
