Help Me See
Daylight
Warm my skin
Within this empty vessel
Which wrestles
With a conscience so unkind
It walks around blind
Unable to connect with mankind
So please
On my knees I beg
Heal me with the light you shed
Stitch back this broken heart
Thread your light inside what’s dark
I plead you seed
A brand new spark
So I may feel free
To finally see
The good in me

Wow Gwen. Simply fantastic poetry here. I think we can all relate to that feeling of disconnect from society, maybe us poets, being a different breed, more so than most. What matters, is that we know who we are, stand with each other and dont let others change us one bit. The beauty and freedom of life. Something to cherish. I really enjoyed this one my friend. Awe Max see you hit the nail their I think. Poets are my type of people. They are the deep thinkers of this life. I think that is why I am drawn to Cosmo rather than social media. I feel more connected here. I can express freely and I can learn from reading other works. Evolve my thinking and grow. Something I feel us poets are always working on.
