Her True Self

Her True Self

Though tears of shame stain her face
The color of her eyes are true
She will eat and drink the riches of the love
That breathed her beautiful heart to life
She will lay down her weapons
And hide in the stone of her heart
Remembering the beautiful lullaby
Her mother sang to her
When she was born
It calmed her distressed soul
And gave her the strength
To never give up hope
Like a star in the sky
That leads her home
When all is said and done
She finds her true self
When she is at her poorest
And all she has is love
