Poem -

Here I rest

Here I rest

Lost in time between our blurred lines.
A blurred past because our time moved so fast and I lost my breath.
Love is only four letters but add another one and call it death.

Let me rest
Let me rest

Ra-racing thoughts that don’t slow down
I scream, I cry with a pillow over my face so you don’t hear my sounds
Let my tears carry me out of this town

Let me drown
Just let me drown

I can’t sleep at night, call me an owl. I’m nocturnal and I question myself... Who? WHO AM I? Someone who is broken winged unable to fly. I’ve fallen to my own demise.

Let me fly
Let me die.

The lost times and our blurred lines were only about me, myself and I.
My blurred past and lost breath.. An image of love that I burned to death.

Here I rest
Here I rest.

Yours truly,
Kayla M. Bednarz
