Highway Is Empty

Highway Is Empty

The highway is empty, the presence has gone,
The head is still reeling and dizzy,
The arms of the friendship, forever reach outward,
But it seems things are now way too busy.

How well are friends treated, when there is no gain,
Shut off until the circumstance demands,
No one around getting, a sideways half glance,
When you are surrounded by those different bands.

Does anything truly disturb all your thoughts,
Do you deal with the deafening silence,
A friendly face or a hurtful place,
Do you see the non physical violence.

A human in tatters, the reflection it scares us,
Help may be right there but not gotten,
They cannot be stuck, in a body that rejects us,
A happy loving human forgotten.
