Poem -

This hole in my heart

We are often taught,

To take the things our hearts so very sought,

This was a lie,

A trick to feel with our minds,

See love as an object,

Not adored,

Society wants us cold,

It tells us our heart wants money or gold,

That our emotions have a price,

I find myself thinking that I wear my heart on a sleeve,

proud as can be,

When in actuality its on the face of a bill,

A Lincoln,

Maybe George,

Hopefully I wont see the day when Franklin bleeds from these sores,

I'm trying to not be a broken soul,

You see I have a new girl,

For which I want my heart to pour,

But we can't  show our hearts,

If we're picking up change off the floor.
