Hypocrisy 42
Do as I say
Not as I do
It’s okay for me
But not for you.
I’m the one in control
I’m not the one to blame.
Do as you are told
And play the game.
Do as instructed
Not as you see
Concentrate on yourself
Don’t look at me.
I’m your boss, your master,
Your Lord and your king.
I am never in the wrong
You don’t know a thing.
I am perfect and wise
You are ugly and despised.
I have power and wealth
And fame and good health.
You are ill, you are beaten
And hungry and moth eaten.
You’ll die in your sins
While I always win.
Just do it I say
The blame is all yours
Don’t walk upright like me
Get down on all fours.
Be oppressed and be weak
Stay humble and meek,
While I walk around town
On my high horse and look down
On the poor and down trod,
Those ignored by God.
The devil takes hold
And the cares overwhelm
While I bathe carefree in my oversized home.
So many rooms I do not need
So much food, no mouths to feed.
So much waste but I don’t care.
I wouldn’t even notice you there
If I didn’t need a slave.
And when I don’t need you
Go back to your cave.
Go be on your own
Or with family in one room of a home
I will not spare a thought
When I’m surrounded by everything I have bought.
