As I Follow

As I Follow

The rocks and pine leave trails behind

Know that I am following this path, never lost

It is sacred ground I walk, I take it with me in every beat

The heart has to hear, though your body lay in the meadow

I come to visit, every now and then, as I follow your name

It bears the truth and it hurts just the same, it is my life

You have died for, let it be known, the Cherokee will never flee

The deepest of the waters in the tribal forest of our mind

Let the nature take heed to our wounds and heal all over time

As I follow, the spirit will never leave the purest of our kind
