I Sat Around

I Sat Around

I sat around rotting for you

Rotting, like only I could do

Rotting on the shelf

I can only blame myself

Wonder why I kissed you goodbye

I sat by the door for hours or more

Alone at home

While you were let to roam.

I wouldn't have controlled you

I wouldn't have told you what to do,

even though you really wanted me to.

I was your Cinderella and you were my prince with the shoe.

But that time is gone, it slipped away....

The glass is broken

I am on the other side.

There was no equality, no respect between you and me.Ā

You took me for granted.

You thought I'd always be there

But at some point, just like you, I decided not to care.

I needed a man.

Instead I was in a relationship with Peter Pan.

I needed a partner, someone to share my life.Ā

I am soĀ muchĀ more thanĀ just a wife.Ā

I sat around rotting for you

Rotting, like only I could do

Rotting on the shelf

I can only blame myself...
