I See The Signs

~~I am seeing signs of old age
My bones do speak to me, at first light
It takes longer to feel able to take on my day
At night I am weary
Nothing more than my bed and rest do I need
I look back with pride and a little shame
I am entering a different stage, I am hopeful of joy
My natural teeth, all but gone
My bladder displays its own wish
My memory is all fading
Yes, sometimes I really have to work on 'remembering'
I never thought I would get older
I thought I was indispensable and would always be young
I am clearly not
Many things just have not worked out
I hope this phase will be peaceful and 'joy strands' threaded within
The jury is out........................... I must wait, see, and face my fate

Ageing will come to us all. We enter a new phase and with blessings from above it will have riches.
Jane this is very relevant and carries a very sobering tone, buckets of intelligence....everyone gets older; if they're blessed, I love your conversational approach in this poem, very well written.....awesome write
