As I Wake Up

Each day I give thanks as I wake up

I see the sun come through the blinds

Hear the birds sing their song of life

I hear the ocean waves against the rocks

I feel your hand holding mine, your tender smile

The clouds roll into a mysterious portrait

The wind blows through my hair so fine

Trees that give us shade and grace upon the earth

Children play in the playgrounds at the school

I hear the geese fly over to the next pond they swim

As I wake up next to you, I feel the love of my soul

The caring, loving way you make me feel brand new

With every prayer as I wake up I thank God I have you
