Poem -

If I die today

I can feel your hand as it touches mine
I hope with my heart, it's not the last time.
I can hear your voice, loud and clear
I can see you're upset, with all of those tears,
but I can't figure out why I can't seem to talk
or squeeze your hand or get up and walk.
This can't be good with all the doctors around,
the machines going crazy and making those sounds.
It must be my time to go home to the Lord
I never saw it coming and it cuts like a sword.
If I Die Today, if this one is my last
Hang on to our memories and cherish our past.
