Poem -

Were you there?

Not sure when this happened
Not sure why I'm here
All that I know, is that my heart is full of fear.
I can't see anything,
I'm not sure if I'm alive,
but I feel your presence as you stand by my side.
Were you there, when I passed on?
Were you there the day I died?
Did you hold my hand and weep?
Did you hang your head and cry?
I hope you understand, that I didn't mean to leave.
I hope you can forgive me, for finally being free.
I'll see you someday soon, I know this with my heart.
God will reunite us, I've known that from the start.
