IN A WHITE ROOM

IN A WHITE ROOM

In a white room with black curtains the shadows
run from themselves when you've been waiting;
at the station a tiger's eye gazes mournfully sad,
but when you finally come I'm happy and very glad.

I'll always love you even when we're so far apart,
because that tiger eventually smiled from his heart;
I'll wait in the room where the sun may never shine,
I need not worry because I know you'll always be mine.

The tiger trod carefully past everything in my life,
squashed and opened dreams, not what it seems,
rather listened to what Jack and Eric liked to say,
took me back to when every day was the best day.

They said that we are with you all those years ago,
when we knew each other and pace of life was slow.
