If life for nought is thought to be
I offer ‘no’ as answer thus
My every avenue will see
A happy trail yet to void

What to think of those who say
Beyond this is nothing more
What to feel for those who pray
Be better yet in heaven’s gate

The gate is open – it is now
Eternal and with joyous feel
The gate is wide - I take my vow
To live life well and in my stride

Desire what one has not been
But what one will – in time – in time
A soul-mate found and kept and loved
What’s here and now – my true divine
