Is That All That Metters to You?

I try to keep my words true 

True enough to see through the shattered glass from my window pain

Even through the fog and rain 

And even though I feel ashamed 

I'd know to not get enough of you 

Cause after all, that's all that matters to you

You shut me down 

Down and out 

Of this big beautiful dream 

And before words can even escape my mouth 

A butterfly will slowly cry 

Off into the distance to remind me to stay sane 

I must 

I have to 

But it seems beautiful words can't catch you

And you will only reach the tip of my fingers 

Maybe if just an aroma could linger 

I'd remember how on earth to actually capture you 

And just as the sky is blue 

How after any storm the earth feels renewed 

That's all that'll matter to you

Maybe my words don't make sense!

Since

I can't even wince towards the thought of what this is 

It's just a moment to us as kids 

Like just nothing in the world ever exists 

And the thought of lips

Gracing mines through the great Devine 

Could save my life in time for me to actually form some sort of togetherness 

Maybe even foreverness 

And in my forgiveness, 

I find that if I lose 

That's all that really matters to you

The atoms that make up you and me 

Seem to always clash you see

Into some sort of Big Bang theory

That because of these fights, 

Only things can evolve from what we solve 

Like our lips curve so much better 

Into words much more conceived into the human mind

Words much more kind 

Kinder to the ears 

Sweeter to it's drum 

I want nothing but sweet hum

Mingbirds

Hope that what comes of it 

Is the singing of 

Songbirds 

Lighter tongues with strong words

But 

It begins with me and you 

Do what we have to do 

And would that still be true 

Is that all that matters to you?
