Isolation

COVID-19

Isolation

Isolation, a petrified nation,
Fossilised in media's domain
Starvation & thirst, execution unjust,
The desperate cry silent afar,
Immune from all suffering, a first world plight,
Gluttony, greed they fight,
The elder who fought, for the riches sought,
Lie lonely, forsaken, forgotten,
Give them this day, our daily bread,
Forgive us our debts as debtors forgiven,
Charity mistaken for right,
For the first in the line, is insular in mind,
Surrendering humanity in kind,
The shelf remains empty, where panic consumes,
Where there is greed, darkness looms,
For they who are last will be first.
