IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO

When I think of the years that we danced together,
pivoting, one foot chained to the ground - I chuckle -
I lost balance and stumbled,
left alone with barred memories,
I wish I could have done better.
No dear, I won't apologize
what I've put you through
when the stick turned deep hue of blue,
was it a wonder or a shame?
It takes two to tango, you know
in case you didn't realize.
You needed a complete nychthemeron to grapple,
a nod to what I've trod,
- you'd cripple -
you irked of neither an alpha nor omega,
an intrusion on your planned and blithe life.
I weathered alone the gamut of pregnancy,
neither did I weep nor shudder,
for she's a moon that shines my way,
and gives me a feeling of intimate complacency.
Her birth is a world's living treasure,
you have no desire to embrace us in your life of ephemeral pleasure.
misconception about contraception,
leads us to the wrong direction.
I am
ONE
better off
than TWO
dear as a deer
moving to and fro
away from this pandemonium
hope to live life anew.
IF WE HADN'T HAD AN UNPLANNED PREGNANCY, WOULD WE STILL BE TOGETHER?
I WONDER!!!
