It's forgotten, it's only a memory.
A generations children forgotten
The souless bodies frozen in pain,
The smoke, the dust, the hurt on faces
Regret escape with the enemy, over again,
Torture, murder, the loss in their eyes
A memory, a friend crying for help, no sound,
Ringing ears, screams of ghosts for mothers
Bodies & bloody limbs scatter the ground,
When we look back at mankind's history
Man over balanced the need, as he takes,
We build, we grow, we pollute, we conquer
Is the plan to leave earth, never learn the mistakes,
Another bullet fired, another name buried
Another family carries the confusion & loss,
Another child killed in a legal cross fire
As guns are collected, stockpiled by the boss,
A world changed is a world in harmony
Learning by the errors that once came before,
But until life has more than a value
As lost ghosts are left asking what it was for,
Fields of blood, running for a distant general
Death & destruction embedded in a mind,
The elderly still remember the lost cries
Soldiers one day united, lost friends they find,
So do we look back at all history
And do as we did, or learn the true goal,
Or do we learn what we chose & ignore
Destruction left behind & forgotten in whole.
