Poem -

I've got what I need.

Some people say my life ain't too good,
but I'm quite happy where I'm stood,
some people say I should move on up,
but I don't want membership of a select club,
some people say I've got to pick a side,
but I prefer to keep my hands untied.

Society screams for everything now,
and demands respect for their sacred cows,
but I tend to stay modest with my high brow,
society is suspicious of the man from the East,
and political tensions will never cease,
but one day, we'll all be deceased.

Heads on T.V manipulating minds,
rage in the streets and everything is maligned,
but I pay no heed and pull down the blinds,
social media stirring a boiling pot,
words on the screen are rather distraught,
but I just keep scrolling without a second thought.

It seems some people need stress just to relax,
running around like snarling wolf packs,
but you won't see me following their tracks,
it seems some people willingly jump into the fray,
charging at high speed, like their on the highway,
but I prefer to enjoy the aroma of a rose bouquet.

I love this..it's almost as if your choosing the ignorance is bliss approach to life, and I admire this, because I to would rather choose to be happy doing the things I love, then to worry about the nonsense that the outside world is going through, because what can we do right? Choose to love, and be loved. Cheers.
