Journey of the Far Away Moons

Journey of the Far Away Moons

The green grass fills the valley, trees and streams follow

It is the moons that live, they tell a story and take us on a journey

Happy are the moons, though restless at night they explore the sky

Only one moon can travel at a time, a giant lives on the other side of the mountains

He catches the gliding moon that wanders, each night cuts a slice out

Until only a sliver is left, then he chops up the last slice and scatters the pieces

Throws them up into the heavens and they become brilliant stars that shine

Looking over us, now only one moon, and the stars make a path where we travel

Finding the light where darkness is shed, the giant lays down and falls to sleep

Wishing that someday he will be like the others, and not have to look away

The native man will find the giant and bring him to safety upon the harvest of the day

Where the vision of the feast will no longer be upon the beast but all mankind

A magical journey within the valley as we leave the far away moons behind
