Julie London Meets Big Daddy

Julie London Meets Big Daddy

My parents for my nineteenth birthday, took me to Sutmiller’s Supper Club;
Who booked well known entertainment, from around the world’s hub!
The owners were good friends of theirs, our seats were always the best;
Julie London was appearing, one of Hollywood’s sirens sexiest!

.
I’m sure they told her who to serenade, when she sang her famous song;
“Big Daddy”, the well known hot hit, it did not take her long!
She stepped down from the stage and came over, to our tableside;
Then she sat down on my father’s lap, and my eyes I had to hide!

.
For I thought my mom would be jealous, but then to my surprise;
She was laughing so hysterically, that tears were in her eyes!
I forgot that just twenty years before, she was an entertainer too;
Her professional courtesy was a given, no anger in it’s lieu!

.
After a few very steamy minutes, it ended, and she kissed my father’s head;
Then she looked at me and said “Happy Birthday”, my face turned very red!
For two hundred people were watching, and I was afraid that they would see;
What was happening under the table, when she said those words to me!

Dear Syd,

Thank you.  When I wrote this, I was "hard up" to make someone laugh.
