Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition

There’s an erudite word called juxtaposition, that indicates a unity to me;

It’s when two things in nature are coincided, and together they were meant to be!

But scholars don’t know it’s etmology, they speak it to use an esoteric word;

For if they would check into its origins, I’m sure they’d say “absurd”!

When perusing great theories on lovemaking, in the Kama Sutra book;

I found it listed “number thirty-seven”, describing the positions lovers took!

They call it the Juxta Position, with the woman on the top;

But half way through this process, they do a big flip flop!

It’s the only one that’s listed, that has two parts, “A” and “B”;

First, I’m on the top of you, then, you’re on top of me!

And if the scholars want to stay erudite, they should soon check out this book too;

They might find they’d rather try it, and its use in sentences, eschew!

Hi Debs,

You are exonerated from having used it in sentences. Ha, Ha!  I meant this poem to be a satire against those stuffy-assed professors who, even though you beseeched them, would never give you another chance, or raise your grade.  It's meant to curb their omniscience, in a humorous kind of way.  Glad you enjoyed it.

Peace and Love,

Hey LARRY!!....... cool write!!........ and I can see why you want to take shot at the professors........ or the erudite..........I Love that the word can be found in "The Kama Sutra!!.".........    because it works perfectly......... my understanding has always been that it meant ~ the bringing of two things close together for comparison in studying contrast......... and certainly you're discovering the contrast between man and woman in the "Kaman Sutra" ~ smiles......... well done brother poet!!......... this is the kind of write that keeps the interest in poetry alive!!..........ALL STARS........... Love and Rockets!!..........T xo

Hi Tony,

As usual, you understand me!  You make my writing poetry a true pleasure.  When I've reached what I feel is a safe level of output, I'm going to start reading lots of poetry on cosmo.  I've eschewed doing this for fear of unintentional plagiarism resulting from someone else's poetic thoughts.  Sometimes I feel guilty because you, Cherie and Georgina have been such mentors and I've not reciprocated.  I promise you in the future I shall do so.  I don't know if you read it, but last week I published a poem called "The Gifts Of The Pundits", which is a tribute to the three of you.

Peace and Love,

xox  Larry

Hi Christopher,

Thank you so much for your very kind comments.  A lot of my poetry is very serious, because at the present time, I'm dealing with a lot of heartache.  But, it does feel good to lighten up and find a common ground of humor which is especially rewarding, when pundits such as yourself enjoy it.

Peace and Love,

xox  Larry
