Familiar Souls

Familiar Souls

Here below, I saw the heavens reflecting upon the earth
Where she had possessed the aura of kingdom come
And I arrived, for the baptism of my rebirth
Only to walk on by, the glorious rays her heart had shone

From two chains apart, we stared amid approaching
On an antiquated bridge, illumed by a separating sky
As the sensation arose with every step unfolding
In the dew of summer rain, I swear I ceased before her eyes

And I still return to meet her again by chance
Where alone she stood, staring out into the creek
Until her eyes had turned to reach mine in a glance
As though she recognised, the very soul inside of me

And I can't quite wait, for what I sense will and must be then
Forgotten before we're found and familiar once again

Thank you very much, Poetess! Glad you saw this after I changed the title, I had the wrong one up all day, which made no sense for what this poem is about.

Such beautiful words, and a deep view of love, romanticism is my favourite ❀️
Much love, Deano xox

Thank you ever so much, Deano! I'm more connected to the romantic poems I write, compared to the other ones.
