Leprechauns

Leprechauns

Irish folklore portrays a little man in green,
Sitting mending old shoes till they’re shiney and clean.
For those who find him and his crock of gold,
Awaits treasure and three wishes of fortunes untold.
Unbeknownst to all, his actual purpose,
Is to protect plants and animals on Earth’s surface.
Should you interrupt the leprechaun’s mission,
Be prepared for a contrary disposition!
Rainbows represent peace from God,
Making the Leprechaun’s task so hard.
And when they are plentiful he runs the risk,
Of losing his pot to people so brisk.
