LESSON UNLEARNT

LESSON UNLEARNT

LESSON UNLEARNT           ( A POEM IN HAIKU FORMAT)

Walk the beach with me.
The fairest flowers fell here
All for Liberty.

Where, upon this Earth
Is there one small inch of land
Untainted by war?

Borders, colours and
Rigid belief feed the need
To shed precious blood.

Yet the growing debt,
Added to incessantly,
Is now overdue.

Thank you.   It is the 70th anniversary this year of the Normandy Landings and I was thinking of those brave men and boys when  wrote this.

You are so varied in your literary skills Susan, I admire your writing greatly.  Such a thought provoking write pronounced by its structure and style.  A sensitive yet emotive piece.  Always got my vote:)
