Let her drink (Written to the Melody of Hootie and the Blowfish's Let Her Cry)

Let her drink (Written to the Melody of Hootie and the Blowfish's Let Her Cry)

I sit alone in my car
Waitin’ outside the God damn club
It’s 2:30 in the morning
Is she out of her damn mind?

She jumps right on in,
Doesn’t tell me anything.
Cause she doesn’t want to think.
She just looks down at her phone
While I quietly drive us home
And I close my eyes, trying not to cry

Chorus:

And just her drink, though my heart begins sink.
Let her yell, even though it hurts like Hell.
Let it go, Let her take it out on me
And if the pain is hard to swallow, Let her know.
Ah Let Her Know.

This morning I woke up at home
Found a message on my phone
Saying: “Baby…Baby we need to talk now.”

I wanted to yell at you.
But then you called me right on cue.
So I fell right down, on the ground
And started talking to myself

Saying Let her drink, though my heart begins sink.
Let her yell, even though it hurts like Hell.
Let it go, Let her take it out on me
And if the pain is hard to swallow, Let her know.
Ah Let Her Know.

Last night I wanted to scream, but I just ran out of steam.
She wasn’t the same girl I fell in love with long ago.
She couldn’t even look me in the eye,
I just went outside and cried, yelling
“Oh My Lord, please help me”
Won’t you help me understand

And just let her drink, though my heart begins sink.
Let her yell, even though it hurts like Hell.
Let it go, Let her take it out on me
And if the pain is hard to swallow, Let her know.

Let her drink, though my heart begins sink.
Let her yell, even though it hurts like Hell.
Let it go, Let her take it out on me
And if the pain is hard to swallow, Let her know.
