Let The Earth Be Calm

I remember when the sounds of war began, and then, I remember the sounds of death
Though the world seemed calm, the earth was shaken, and the country was in a shamble
As I take a deep breath, I know my thoughts are about my beloved, who is serving in this war
He is my heart, he is my breath, my lungs, my everything, and I fear for his life continually
Let the earth be calm, as I have known it, as I am a native from this land, I am a warrior, as my ancestors
The chief in my tribe, would not give up, he would let his people know of the coming of trouble
And I have faith. that the service men in my lover's troop, are equally taking care of their men
I must pray to the spirits, and not be blinded by rumors, nor shall I be side tracked from the media
My love, is a passion, no other could understand, for it is, in my soul, it is the power of a merciful combat
Where my people, took trophies, of their victory, the scalp of a white man, the unforgiving spear to death
Though I may be speaking for my own people, I am speaking for the rights of my country, for the land that I love
Let the earth be calm, and let my husband come home as one, and the world to become, a different place, where no man, no woman, no one, is to blame for their race
Let the earth be calm, let us be one, and find peace, let us shed no more blood
