Life

And just like that yesterday is past 
Memories of youth, time going by fast
The smell that reminds you, the dreams while you sleep
The goals and ambitions, off the floor you jump and leap
Bang into the world, you land on one foot
Balancing the journey,  one door open another shut 

And just like that you begin to come into own
Finding your feet, building a home
Meeting old friends, reminiscing with smiles
The shoes you have battled in, all those miles
The good and what ifs, and the sorrow of some
Not all quite sadly have the same outcome 

Fairytales and tragedy , yes so far apart
But life throws it around,  like an arrow in the heart
We fluff our wings and wake each day 
Hoping for a good one, for a safe one we pray 

We our only human after all, 
In this big wide world, you can feel small
Just wake with appreciation and love
Know that a storm can never stay tough
The sun will always shine through in the end
So for now let’s just wing it and pretend 

The child in you, still there,  we are still learning everyday
Life doesn’t come with instructions, mistakes are okay
Just be you and aim for happiness
It is the greatest thing that you will possess
