Lightbulbs

Typical summer night.
School is almost over, and I've read every book in sight.
She's home, stomping up the stairs.
I know what's next, and it isn't going to be very fair.
It was silent for just long enough for me to think I'd be okay.
Just one night was all I asked, and it seemed so close in my reach, we'd both be at bay.
The door flies open, I can feel the gust of wind from it.
Here it comes, the eldest gets the benefit.
They air is cut with flying objects.
As she throws one last thing, she leaves, and my skin will be slightly convex.
The last thing she threw was now sitting in shards on my bedroom floor.
I couldn't take it anymore.
Across my arms and legs, trying to lighten up and brighten the mood.
She left me alone with my lightbulb in shards.
All alone to comfort me with best regards.
