Loss

Loss

Fleeting light, extinguished in the morning sun

Torment lifted, in the darkest day

Anguish drifted,  June’s vindictive curse

Peace found, In bleakest despair

Suffering acquitted, Forever more.

This is absolutely exquisite.

Profound and sad; feeling moulded into a form of pure poetry.

You've just recruited your own groupie, Ms. Caizley!

A most poignant short and straight to the point poem that hits home Lorna, for you mention.

'Suffering acquitted, Forever more'

For no-one should suffer in this life, but they do and a dignified death if possible is a welcome release.
And at their end embrace peace, perfect  everlasting peace.
A sobering and earnest write that you have attentively and compassionately summed up admirably.
