Love And Treason

May the steeple impale the backs of treason
For what is love devoid of loyalty
And how does a kiss taste without resistance
Is it euphoric and sweet
When the forbidden beckons the bells of death
And your treacherous tongue
Withholds the only reason
Is your remorse sincere enough to warrant forgiveness
Or are your tears of sorrow, a promise in vain
When in sickness and suicide, the vow falls at the altar
ββOnly then to awaken, in the fires of internal pain
And this harrowing heart ruptures
To the embrace I envisage
Embowered by the thought of you
Gratified and getting off
I bellow through the mellifluous sound
I asphixiate in the image
For your salacious smile
ββββββIsΒ the slip that ties the knot
All that's pure has turned to sin
And my soul, it falls but not with yours
As I show you the ruin, you left me in
ββββββStill it won't be long
Before the tears you weep will wear
And forgotten will be my name
As I watch you in the arms of another moving on
Through the wind, where the echoes wail
And where you left my severed heart to fall
What becomes of those who perish
Is ever the flame to rise again
Or does it stay out in the darkness
Before it fades with the memory
Never again to be the same
If what once was true is found to be ephemeral
Let go and let sagacity guide you
In another light, through an other's eyes, soar
Until you find forever again
