LOVE NUMBERS

LOVE NUMBERS

There was a time when it was seventh heaven,
do you remember the carefree days of being eleven,
everything done for you but when you reached fifteen,
no more freebies, things started getting a bit mean.

What was your favourite age, maybe it was nineteen,
because it was the beginning, so fresh and pristine;
I remember twenty five, I left for Africa, felt alive,
some not so lucky, your spirits might have taken a dive.

Would you do the same again - instead of wasting years,
the old story - you could swap to find another set of fears;
I played roulette, some only concerned with number one,
that's you - when was the last time that you really won?

The days of sixty nine now seem a distant memory,
not only the year but a certain position mon ami.
