Love Was a Person

Love Was a Person

I was infected with love once,
Until I saw in the light,
But the cuts they run so deep,
I am sickened by it's very sight.

The scars will last my lifetime,
Never to trust another again,
Just when I thought I had it all,
The loss was a searing pain.

I dont trust love on value,
An emotion so easily bought,
A cashless commodity owned,
But a commodity eagerly sought.

Goodbye love you traitor,
A backstabbing pain in the dark,
And even the signs have all vanished,
It has certainly still left it's mark.

I redirect all my disappointments and channel it into making a great life for my daughter, and travelling.
