Lucky Escape

This damned juvenile predicament;
Allow me to explain,
I had always tried to conquer,
Yet there was little left to gain.
You left me at the market;
All stalls and diverse crowds,
The sun and rain make rainbows,
But myself and you made clouds.
An ending to the nightmare;
You had nothing to forfeit,
Not one to drop the gauntlet,
This time I'm glad you quit.
So you disappeared easily,
Amongst the sellers clobber,
It goes against your anatomy,
To care too much to bother.
You always were too lazy;
I'm good with flattery,
I'm glad you left me lonely,
To re-charge my battery.
I should have realised sooner,
Our ties were counterfeit,
You dissected me in surgery,
But I'll rebuild me bit by bit.
Just like an old grave robber,
You stole away my heart,
And so it ends in this darn place,
A colourful new start.

Hi Sam, this is brilliant and really from the heart, the images you create here are so vivid and clear...Loss and abandonment are such vile things...the only hope is to be made stronger by this and your poem reflects as such
