The Martian Child

It all starts with a strange little boy

One who thinks he’s something else

The feeling of being from outer space

A place he likes to call Mars

This boy fearing all human life forms

Until the day this one creature appears

Showing him what human life is about

Testing the knowledge of fact to fiction

Against all odds the trust begins

Between the creature and the Martian

Wondering if they’re truly different

One believing they’re from a different planet

The other thinking they’re from a different universe

A writer versus a child’s imagination

Some say, “Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus”

Not telling whether someone can believe a such thing

It only takes one to think so

Sometimes we forget that the children have arrived

On this planet we like to call Earth

They are like aliens coming into beings

Filled with bundles of energy and pure potential

Here on some kind of exploratory mission

They’re just trying to learn what it’s like to be human

For some reason, we all tend to reach out to the universe

Were we tend to find each other

We will never really know how or why

But to discover that we could love an alien

As much as they can love us creatures

This tending to be weird for all of us
