IN MEMORY

I once lived on earth…
existed.
In an instance,
torn and twisted.
Savage souls 
fought the gifted roles
of those chosen, born, enlisted.

Unforseen were circumstances,
many merely took for granted.
Seeds were sewn,
grown re-planted
Raised as their own.
Alone...enchanted.

But a sudden shudder shook that world
The place I faced,
fast paced,
unfurled.

All was gone,
done and dusted
At least I found the truth I trusted
Knowing now I won on wing
that fated date,
still harrowing

Yet high I fly
as angels sing
No more,
could this existence bring.

Dealt the card most dread to play
Mortality...!
had found her way
Hence…
lasting words in gasp I say.

A poetess, 
was blessed...saved.
Her name remains
in candles’ flame
an everlasting, selfless dame
Sent from above,
In love,
Reclaimed.

In memory …
of the life I paved.
