Merciless Beauty

Merciless Beauty

Biting wind, icy and bitter
Crisp white lawns of frosted glitter
Deceiving skies of Baltic blue
The crunch of snow beneath my shoe
Jagged trees with branches bare
Hot breath dissolving in the air
Sharp short splinters of winter sun
Banished early when day is done
Clear bright stars in flawless skies
As winter lovers say goodbyes
Bent hunched bodies battle the weather
Snowflakes floating like a feather
A winter landscape, nothing living
Beautiful but unforgivingĀ
