Monsters

Monsters

Fearsome creatures lurk under beds,

or so i once believed.

A creepy notion many youngsters lead to perceive.

Hollow shade between spring and wood,

perfect dwelling ground for things that wish no good.

Puberty: a welcome escape

from fear of being not awake.

Yet with it, different monsters,

eyes shade of green,

who reveal themselves without physically being seen.

Craving taste of bitter words and scowling looks,

thriving on love loss and pain.

Their perfectly painted claws takeĀ grip like hooks.

Ugly!

A term they often spit.

But if 'ugly' had a face it would surely be this.

Jealousy,Ā it's self:

the very portrait ugly fits.
