Poem -

my lake to ocean grown

my lake to ocean grown

I stand before you – bare my soul –
Arms open yet afraid
To invite is to declare –
Life’s closure is to stay

And know the world outside my window
Is my world and mine alone
Where magpies sit on paled fence
And after noon they’ve flown

To feel is to extend and seek –
My lake to ocean (grown)
A minnow to a shark I fear –
My pebble to your stone

To embrace is to accept with dread –
Anticipate the course –
To delete the past is to accept
A new world’s stronger force
