NEVER AGAIN (Domestic violence)

There was a blank coldness
To his icy, dark stare
I knew this was the beginning
Of my worst nightmare
An icy chill washed over me
I knew something was terribly wrong
He yelled and came charging at me
I couldn't fight, he was too strong
I looked around for some way out
But he caught the scent of fear
He knocked me down and kicked me
Until the taste of blood and death were near
My neighbor saw the porch light on
She knew I was in trouble
She didn't waste any time
She called for help, on the double
The night they put you in the police car
I knew you'd be back for more
But I'll be waiting for you
Cuz baby; This is war
I thought he was a burglar; Officer
It was dark and I couldn't see
He came busting through the door, I shot
I thought he was going to kill me

I agree Charlotte, I understand spiritual warfare and it can be very hard to deal with! Thank you Charlotte!
Harrowing story! But well written, honestly and graphically!Ā
much love.
Thank you John, for reading this poem, I know that the subject matter is not usually written about much and is difficult to read. I wrote this after my niece was nearly strangled to death by her boyfriend. Thanks again!
